Mistfall Hunter Enemies — Corroded, Elites & Mist Lords
✔ Last checked: 2026-08-04
Mistfall Hunter sorts everything that wants you dead into three tiers: common Corroded trash, named Elites that quests send you to hunt, and Mist Lords — the boss fights that end runs. Both “Corroded” and “Mist Lords” are the official terms (the official site promises treasure “guarded by the Corroded or terrifying Mist Lords”), and in a full-loot extraction game the practical question isn’t “can I kill it” — it’s “is killing it worth what I’m carrying”.
The threat ladder
| Tier | What it is | Examples | Should you fight it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corroded (common) | Mist-twisted creatures and dead soldiers filling every zone | Grunts, hounds, shamblers of various flavors | Yes — this is your XP, loot and warm-up |
| Elites | Named mini-bosses, usually quest targets, marked on the map | Elite Greataxe Berserker, Elite Captain | When the quest demands it, or the drop table tempts you |
| Mist Lords / Bosses | Named boss encounters guarding the richest loot | Otto the Flesheater, Sálmar the Cursed Moonwane, Harald the Fallen General | With a plan, a team, or life insurance |
Named bosses and elites (community-documented stats)
These numbers come from a community boss guide of the launch build — treat them as community-documented, not gospel, and expect patches to shuffle them:
| Enemy | Health | Attack | Kill Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harald, the Fallen General | 9,526 | 410 | 800 |
| Tyrannical Executioner | 6,520 | 352 | 500 |
| Fungus Matron | 2,901 | 283 | 300 |
| Captain (Brandrgarde) | 2,637 | 283 | 300 |
| Foul Hound Alpha | 1,008 | 189 | 100 |
All of the above share a documented 705 Defence and 50% Block Rate in that dataset — which tells you something about launch balance: bosses here don’t out-stat you into oblivion, they out-block you. Swing into a raised guard and you’re donating stamina.
The Mist Lords
The two marquee Mist Lord fights players ask about:
- Otto, the Flesheater — deep in Brandrgarde (community guides place him in the Sealed Grounds or the Main Hall; check your map before committing). Lore: a royal researcher whose mind broke in a mining collapse, remade by divine blood into something that eats what it finds. The Flesheater’s Feast quest sends you to him, and he’s tuned for coordinated squads.
- Sálmar, the Cursed Moonwane — the “False God” of Hallowgrove Chaos, a two-phase fight tied to the Divine Anchor and the Soul Experiment questline. Bellring ran an official boss reveal for her before launch, which is about as confirmed as lore gets in this game.
We’re building dedicated Mist Lord pages as we verify mechanics — until then, the interactive maps show exact spawn markers.
Elite hunt pages
The elite targets players actually search for, each with location and strategy:
- Elite Greataxe Berserker — the “kill the Elite Greataxe Berserker” quest target everyone hits in week one
- Elite Captain — the Evil Purge target in Hallowgrove Chaos
- Harpy — the winged menace players swear exists; we sort sighting from rumor
Finding any enemy yourself
Two community tools already track spawn points better than any prose guide:
- questlog.gg’s interactive map — filters for boss, lord and elite spawns, plus extraction points.
- Gamer Guides’ per-map interactive maps — Hallowgrove and Brandrgarde with spawn and treasure markers.
Our maps page explains what each covers. And before you contest any elite: read up on PvP realities — the monster is rarely what kills you at a contested boss. It’s the Shadowstrix who watched you fight it.
FAQ
What are the Corroded in Mistfall Hunter?
The Corroded are the common enemies of the Gyldenmist — creatures and once-living beings twisted by the corrupting fog. The official site describes treasures 'guarded by the Corroded or terrifying Mist Lords', so the two names cover the bottom and top of the threat ladder.
What is a Mist Lord?
Mist Lords are the named, high-value boss encounters — Otto the Flesheater in Brandrgarde and Sálmar the Cursed Moonwane in Hallowgrove Chaos are the two players talk about most. They guard the best loot and end the most runs.
Do enemy kills give anything besides loot?
Yes — kills grant Kill Score, which feeds the Path of Glory seasonal track (community-documented values range from 100 for a Foul Hound Alpha to 800 for Harald). Loot still matters more, but score is why bosses are worth contesting.
Is the Returner Woodling an enemy?
Technically yes, practically it's your exit. You kill a Returner Woodling and ring the bell on its corpse to extract. Killing it is the easy part — surviving the 5-second channel afterward is the game.
